How much is customs duty on an imported car?

How much does it cost to import a Chinese car into Algeria?
It depends on the model. Take the Geely Livan X3 Pro (1.5L): a purchase price of $6,591, plus FOB costs (inspection, inland transport, export documents, customs declaration, port fees and our 5% service fee), plus sea freight and insurance. Algerian clearance and taxes are then charged as a fixed fee of 800,000 DA — the same for every model, paid in dinars to the authorities. The full landed cost per model is shown in the table above.
What customs duty applies to imported cars in Algeria?
Customs duty is 15% of the CIF value for petrol and hybrid engines up to 1,800 cc, and 30% above that. Domestic consumption tax (TIC) is 0% up to 1,800 cc, 60% from 2,001 to 3,000 cc and 100% above. VAT is 19% on (CIF + duty), plus a 2% solidarity levy and a 2% customs service fee. The 1,800 cc figure is a tax threshold, not a legal ceiling.
How long does delivery take from China to Algeria?
Allow 45 to 50 days from order to arrival at the ports of Algiers or Oran under optimal conditions — export file prepared before loading, direct line without transshipment, no port congestion. In case of transshipment or port congestion, allow 55 to 60 days instead, plus 1 to 2 weeks for customs clearance. Final times depend on actual sea conditions.
Can I import a diesel car into Algeria?
No. Diesel is banned from import into Algeria. Only petrol, hybrid and electric vehicles are allowed. Our catalogue is entirely petrol, plus one 100% electric model, the BYD Yuan UP 401 km.
How does payment work?
Payment is made in two instalments by bank transfer (T/T): 50% on order, when we buy the vehicle at the factory, and 50% before loading, once you know the vehicle exists and has been inspected. Each step is documented with factory photos, the inspection report and the export documents.
Do you sell new or used vehicles?
Both. We import brand-new vehicles and inspected used vehicles, depending on what is available at the time. Every used vehicle we offer is a recent, low-mileage one — under 3 years old and with limited mileage — and each is checked and documented in a report before shipment.
