How is the landed price in Algeria built?
The purchase price alone cannot decide anything. Between it and the amount you actually pay there are four layers, and every one of them is published.
- Vehicle purchase price in China — converted to dinars; this is the figure shown in the table above
- + FOB costs — pre-shipment inspection, inland transport to the port, export formalities, documents, port fees and our service fee
- + Sea freight and marine insurance (0.8% of value) plus Algerian port fees → this gives the CIF value
- + Algerian duties and taxes — customs duty, VAT at 19% on (CIF + duty), the 2% solidarity levy and the 2% customs service fee
For the 1.5L petrol models — that is the whole catalogue except the electric one — the fourth layer adds roughly 41% of the CIF value. That is why the figure above sits well below what you will pay, and the gap is freight and tax, not a hidden margin. Every rate and worked example in dinars is set out in our customs duty guide.
Why does the catalogue start at 856,500 DA and end at 1,827,200 DA?
The gap between the cheapest and the most expensive model is not a doubled commercial margin — it is size, engine and equipment. The price order above reads as an order of size and specification:
- Livan X3 Pro — compact 1.5L SUV, three trims. It is the entry point to the catalogue.
- Coolray — broadly the same size, but better equipped, with a panoramic roof and a CVT, plus the sporty Battle trim with a 1.5 turbo engine.
- T-Cross 2025 — a European inspected used SUV, around 50,000 km, automatic.
- X5 Plus Pro — 1.5 turbo SUV, automatic, red and black interior.
- Lavida 2025 — family sedan, 1.5L automatic; the dearest petrol model because it is the largest.
- Yuan UP 401 km — fully electric. The highest price in the catalogue because the battery is the most expensive component of an electric car.
Which model fits your need?
- First budget, family use → Livan X3 Pro. Lowest price in the catalogue, in the most favourable tax bracket.
- Equipment and a panoramic roof → Coolray. The 668 for daily use, the Battle if you want a turbo engine and a sporty trim.
- A European car for less → T-Cross 2025. Recent used, and the price gap against new is wide.
- Sedan for daily driving and long distance → Lavida 2025. The roomiest cabin, with an economical 1.5L engine.
- Turbo SUV with a younger design → X5 Plus Pro.
- City driving, low running cost → Yuan UP, fully electric. No fuel, no oil, 401 km claimed range.
Price alone cannot settle it. Compare the landed cost of each model inside the calculator: the tax bracket can reverse the order between two models that look close on price.
What makes these prices move?
The prices shown above are correct on the date stated at the top of the page. They are not fixed for ever:
- Exchange rate — prices are converted from yuan to dinars; any move in the yuan moves the dinar figure.
- Factory prices — they change with the model, the year, the trim and the equipment.
- Algerian customs reference value — if your invoice sits below the customs internal reference value (the "Argus" value), the higher reference value is applied, and what you actually pay rises.
- Tax law — the finance law is revised annually, and a change in a rate or a reduction passes straight through to the landed cost.
The price is fixed in the quotation when you sign. Always ask for a quotation with a stated date before committing, rather than a figure kept from an old conversation.
Why have Chinese car imports into Algeria risen?
Algeria imported 143,012 cars from China in the first half of 2026, up 235.5% in a year. The cause is structural, not a fad:
- Engine size inside the best tax bracket — most Chinese models imported into Algeria are 1.5L, so they fall in the 15% duty band with 0% consumption tax.
- Equipment included in the base price — panoramic roof, reversing camera and automatic gearbox are frequently standard where a competitor charges extra.
- A real price gap against a European or Korean model at equivalent equipment — which is exactly what the price order in the table above reflects.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a Chinese car cost in Algeria?
In our catalogue today, from 856,500 DA for the Geely Livan X3 Pro up to 1,827,200 DA for the BYD Yuan UP, fully electric. These are vehicle purchase prices in dinars, excluding FOB costs, sea freight, customs duty and VAT.
Is the price shown the final price in Algeria?
No. What is shown is the vehicle purchase price. The landed cost in Algeria adds FOB costs, sea freight and marine insurance, Algerian port fees, then customs duty at 15%, VAT at 19% on (CIF + duty), the 2% solidarity levy and the 2% customs service fee. It is calculated line by line in the calculator on our site.
What is the cheapest Chinese car in your catalogue?
The Geely Livan X3 Pro 2026: from 856,500 DA (43,500 RMB) for the manual trim without sunroof, then 876,200 DA for the manual with sunroof, and 941,200 DA for the automatic. The first order carries a minimum of four vehicles per container.
Are the prices in dinars or in yuan?
The reference figure is in Algerian dinars, while the purchase price is paid in Chinese yuan. We show the RMB equivalent beside every price because any move in the exchange rate feeds straight through to the dinar figure — so you can see exactly which part of the price is moving.
Can payment be spread over instalments?
Payment is made in two instalments by bank transfer (T/T): 50% on order, when we buy the vehicle at the factory, and 50% before loading, once you know the vehicle exists and has been inspected. Each step is documented with factory photos, the inspection report and the export documents.
How long does delivery take from order to arrival?
Allow 45 to 50 days from order to arrival at the ports of Algiers or Oran under optimal conditions — export file prepared before loading, direct line without transshipment. With transshipment or port congestion, allow 55 to 60 days instead, plus one to two weeks for customs clearance.
Can the price change after I order?
No. The price is fixed in the quotation when you sign. The catalogue itself does move with the exchange rate and factory prices, so ask for a quotation with a stated date before committing rather than relying on a figure kept from an old conversation.
